Passionate about Tasmania, dedicated to helping you capture its essence
Inspired by Nature Itself
"Every landscape has a story. My job is to help you find it."
I believe that being a nature photographer is a privilege. In nature, every plant, tree, flower, insect, and every single living organism "fits". From the microscopic through to the largest mammal, all have a purpose. This is the world that makes sense to me, a world I can appreciate for all its beauty.
I was born in France and raised in Africa, exposed to the intricacies and beauty of the natural world from an early age. I started as a field guide many years ago, and to become the best person I can be, I need to be out in nature. It was, and always will be, that simple.
As a photographer, I've had the privilege to work in some of the most beautiful wilderness locations in Africa. My wife Carolyn and I lived with a zebra named Gilbert, shared a bed with a troop of banded mongoose, and raised a trio of warthogs, a pair of ostriches, and a host of birds and reptiles over the years.
My love of nature has landed me in hot water on a few occasions, most notably when a black mamba bit me while removing it from someone's home. I was rushed to hospital and treated with anti-venom. Fortunately, both the mamba and I survived. Throw in a few elephant, lion, and hippo charges for good measure, and you realize what an incredible life a wildlife photographer gets to experience.
These days, Carolyn and I call Australia home. We share a home in the remote region of Tasmania's Diddleum Plains with our much loved cats, dogs and birds. Wild Artistic is not just about taking photographs. It is about appreciating everything in nature, a celebration of our natural world.

A Personal Invitation
"I believe that it is only once we're in nature that we can truly appreciate the beauty and meaning of life itself. Wild Artistic is about appreciating everything in nature, a celebration of our natural world. I may not be the greatest nature photographer out there, but I am right up there with the most passionate.
When surrounded by beauty, inspiration is never in short supply. If you're drawn to Tasmania's wild beauty and want to capture it in a meaningful way, I'd love to have you join me on this journey.
See you on the island."
